Nigel Cabourns Ascent collection in 2004 gained much notoriety for its attention to detail in re-creating the clothing used in Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgays successful expedition of Mount Everest in 1953 . This year inspiration has again drawn from this pioneering feat. The classic Everest Parka, an almost direct replica of the jacket Hilary himself wore on the famous trip, as well as in several journeys across Antarctica, has been re-created, but this time the Orange colour-way is joined by Blue and Olive versions.
The Cameraman Jacket, worn in several early expeditions by Wilfred Noyce, is also re-created in three different colours. The Harris Tweed Mallory Jacket, worn by George Herbert Mallory in his fatal attempt to scale Everest in 1924, also sees a re-issue to the current collection.
Also joining us is the reversible Naval Shirt, in both Navy and Blue Ecru, which comes with WW2 shank buttons on both the placket and the cuffs. The final piece to complete the collection is the WW2 US Navy Sweat Jacket, complete with WW2 British Army fastening clips usually seen on a Deck Jacket.
This collection is available to buy both online and in store
