£25Koinonia: Self portraits by Nairobi Street Children is a limited edition charity publication that documents photographs and drawings made by 21 boys from Kibera, a slum on the outskirts of Nairobi. The content of the book was collected in 2006 during a workshop conducted by British Artist David Fulford in collaboration with the Koinonia Community Kenya. Through images of situations, artefacts and people, as well as recent written notes made by the boys in 2009 looking back on their photographs, the book reveals a remarkable and personal visual narrative about life on Nairobi’s streets. All profits from sales of the book will be put towards the development of an ongoing street magazine project produced in partnership with the Koinonia Community Kenya, a charitable organization that works in the local communities to help and protect the many children who live on the streets of Nairobi.
